Beamer Unplugged: A Glimpse into “Beam Possible” Outing

This year, we adopted the theme “Mission: Beam Possible,” where every “agent” is divided into different teams competing to achieve the highest scores for each task. Beamers were based out of Hua Hin for a series of challenges that required collaboration, adaptability, and trust. While the agenda was filled with diverse activities, our goal remained clear: to provide a meaningful experience through team-building exercises, while allowing time to relax and recharge together as a team. 

Being Mission-Oriented and Focused Drives Team Success 

Beamers started the day with various mission-oriented bears in mind, knowing there would be challenges coming ahead. Through every activity, whether it’s strategy-based games to physically dynamic team challenges. We noticed everyone pushing through the limits, demonstrating via situational awareness and co-decision making, while also aiming for excellence. We ensure that the plan we create together will guide us toward achieving the best possible outcome.

Our ambitious approach is truly one of the most defining traits shared by all Beamer. No matter how tough the challenge, the right timing and a solid plan can make all the difference. One standout moment from our outing was a dodgeball challenge that required tremendous team effort, a task that no individual could complete alone.

In this game, two teams set aside, competing to eliminate opposite players by throwing balls at them, while also avoiding being hit themselves. Each team had to appoint a “King player”, a crucial role that significantly influenced the outcome. Team members had to decide how best to protect their king or strategically eliminate the opponent’s, and often came up with creative tactics on the spot. Another rule of this game is that each team must decide to allocate a prize pool among their players, choosing whether to reward one key player or distribute it equally across the team.

Team mentality will push us through any difficult challenges.

Through this game, we would see how each team came up with different strategies, either attacking or defensive gameplay. While every Beamer aimed for a victory, what’s more important is that we thrived as team members together with the plans we made. Ultimately, winning or losing might not be the goal of this game. It was about embracing a team mentality, combining our strengths to eventually push through challenges together.

Integrity Builds Lasting Growth 

Integrity is another essential aspect that our Beamer relies on in any situation. This inevitably reflects on our work mentality as we continually evolve. It's not just about doing the right thing; it's about choosing transparency and accountability, even when no one is watching.

During our trip to Hua Hin, this belief was evident in how we collaborated, made decisions, and supported each other. Whether solving problems or taking on fun challenges, every action we shared echoed our commitment to growing in the right direction, with integrity at its core.

These challenges mirror how we work as a team.

One standout activity from our outing trip involved diving underwater to collect gemstones with one rule: only one gem could be collected per turn. While it may have been tempting to bend the rules to speed things up, such as handing off extra gems to the next diver, every team chose to play fair, and no one tried to take advantage of the other teams. This moment may seem simple, but it reflected something deeper. A shared belief that all of us are always embracing, meaning that true success isn’t about speed or shortcuts, but about doing things in the right way. This reflects in our work as we hold ourselves accountable, knowing that long-term growth can be achieved through a foundation of trust, transparency, and integrity.

Collaboration is the Heart of a Project’s Success 

It’s undeniable that when we work as a team, collaboration from team members significantly contributes to the success of any project. Without this aspect, many tasks wouldn’t simply come to life. To work effectively together, we need to understand our team’s strengths and adapt to the situation accordingly. That’s how we unlock our full potential as a team. For instance, during one of our outing challenges, we initially competed against each other, but the game took a twist that required both teams to work together. It quickly became clear that when collaboration is needed, it doesn’t take long for us to come together as one unified team. The same principle applies in our work, when we become part of a bigger team, we’re ready to contribute at our fullest potential.

Collaboration also ties back to Beamer's principles, as we believe every member has a voice to speak up, share opinions, and bring new ideas to the table. We value creativity and contributions from everyone, while also ensuring these inputs are purposeful and measurable.

Appreciate All Things Around

While we set numerous challenges for all Beamer. We also create space for rest, giving our minds to pause and recharge, which helps sustain our energy in the long run. Additionally, we provide a variety of delightful meals to the team, making sure they are nourishing their spirits, not just filling their stomachs. We believe sharing quality time over a great meal helps elevate team morale and strengthen the bond. After all, taking time to rest is essential to all of us as it recharges our minds and energy, enabling us to deliver the best version of ourselves, which will reflect in the work we do.

It’s safe to say that this trip was genuinely memorable and meaningful for all of us. With renewed energy and stronger bonds, we’re ready to return to work and give our best as we continue shaping the ever-evolving world of digital payments.
